Lined Baby Hat Pattern
Located below is the pattern for creating lined baby hats/beanies. Perfect project for using your old soft t-shirts! Use my tutorial to complete the project.
When printing chose ‘fit to page’ or ‘none’ on scaling so they will print properly.
**These patterns were created for personal use and gift giving only! Please do not sell items made using my Whitney Sews template and tutorial.**
*UPDATE- I have had a few people tell me they've had trouble printing this pattern the right size. I going to give the measurements so when you print it you can double check the size and adjust if needed. The bottom edge should measure around 7 3/4 inches. From top to bottom should be 5 1/4 inches. You can also cut the band to 16 X 5 inches to make it easier. Hope that helps :)

Whitney Sews on Threadbanger!
You all have no idea how exciting it is for me to be a part of Threadbanger! Without the inspiration from Threadbanger, I never would have started Whitney Sews. I've been a part of Threadbanger for almost two months now...but my first tutorial was posted on the TB youTube channel TODAY!
Here it is...I hope you love it!

Etsy Store Sale!
I was laid off this last Monday from my day job. Since then I've been hard at work sewing new items for my etsy store. Because of all the new items that are being added, I have slashed prices on older inventory by 15-20%. Buy 2 or more items and receive free shipping (shipping costs will be refunded via paypal once payment is received).
Now is a great time to start thinking about holiday gift *wink*
Head over to my store to see what's on sale and keeping checking back for new items :)
My newest item! Many more vintage character items coming soon :)

Big News!
When I started Whitney Sews in May 2009 it was a final video project for college. It was only meant to be the 1 episode and nothing more. I never would have dreamed that over 2 years later I would still be on youTube creating tutorials on a weekly basis. I had been watching Threadbanger since December of 2007 and it was inspiration from Corinne, Rob, and Meg that helped me come up with the idea of Whitney Sews.
So having said all that you can only imagine my excitement when I was asked to be a part of the Threadbanger relaunch! At first I wasn't sure if it was legit, so I contacted Corinne and she confirmed it was real...so I squealed. After my phone conversation with a gal at Next New Networks who is working with TB- I squealed. The day the announcement video went up- I squealed! There has been a lot of excited squealing happening around here :)
Anyway, the way things work is there are 5 core channels and we take turns posting a Monday Haul video on the TB channel. Then sometime that week we post a corresponding video on our personal channels using the items we showed in the haul for a tutorial. I think it's going to be a great way to showcase more DIYers and give viewers the opportunity to subscribe to the channels they like. There will also be some viewer submitted videos and editor picks from Corinne.
I'm so thankful that I get to be a part of a channel that has meant so much to me over the past several years! It's really helped to encourage and inspired me to come up with better tutorials. Also thank you to everyone who has supported Whitney Sews! Without you all I would never have made it this far!
I think that's all the news for now...off to work on some new videos...

Sewing Projects
I've been sharing what I'm working on over on the Whitney Sew's facebook page...but I thought it was time for an update here :)
Yesterday I spent the entire day sewing! Have to have something to keep me busy inside since it's so hot outside! I made two pillow shams using a vintage Smurf sheet (they are super cute!), I finished a whale shaped zipper bag also using vintage sheets for material, and I started a paper pieced string wall quilt (using my latest tutorial) to use up a lot of my fabric scraps. All of these items will be for sale in my handmade etsy store Generation Gap once I get them photographed.
Speaking of my store...I currently have 2 cuffs listed made using this tutorial. I had so much fun that I kept making them :) I also listed the newsboy hat I made in another tutorial. Lastly, I have 2 wrap skirts I need to photograph and list. They are based off the wrap skirt tutorial for a while back.
Well that's what I've been up to...I would love to hear what you all are working on!

Comment Info
I just wanted to write a quick note to all you lovely people who read, watch, and comment on this blog. I appreciate every single one of you! I read every comment left- whether on this blog or on youTube. However recently blogger has had some sort of glitch and is not allowing me to leave comments on other people's blogs. I'm not sure what the problem is, but when I go to the commenter's blog to respond it keeps saying I'm not logged in...no matter how many times I sign in. I want to apologize to everyone who has commented and not received a response. Hopefully this problem fixed soon.

Blogs and Sewing Supplies
Tonight I found a couple of great blogs and I've been going through their archives for the last hour or two. I love finding new inspirations and ideas! Both blogs have wonderful photos (because I tend to not do a lot of reading on blogs...) and tons of tutorials.
Make It and Love It
Noodlehead
On Noodlehead I found a great post that has photos showing sewing supplies and each item is numbered. Then below the photos is the item name and a short description on some. It's a great post to look at if you are new to sewing and don't know what supplies you need or if you've heard the name of an item several times but aren't sure what it is...now you can look at the photos and find out :)
So go check out these two blogs and let me know what you think. Also let me know if your 'to make' list doubles after looking at the blogs for awhile...I think mine just did...
